386/486/Pentium machines. It includes Emacs, X11R6, gcc,
TeX/LaTeX, groff, TCP/IP, SLIP, UUCP, the works. Here's
everything you ever wanted to know about Linux but were afraid to ask.

from Sunsite or one
of its many mirrors.

Linux is a new book from
O'Reilly and
Associates, Inc.. It's over 600 pages, telling you how to get
the most out of Linux. Here is the
release
announcement from O'Reilly.
- O'Reilly has also published Olaf Kirch's
Linux Network
Administrator's Guide. This is a revised and beautified version
of the manual from the LDP.
- The XFree86 Project, Inc. is a
non-profit organization maintaining a free port of the X Window System to
Linux and other Intel-based UNIX platforms. Benchmarks for XFree86 are found here.
- The ACC Bookstore distributes
many Linux-related products, CD-ROMs, books, and more.
- SSC, Inc. are publishers
of Linux Journal and
sell many Linux-related products.
- InfoMagic, Inc., producers
of the Linux Developer's Resource CD-ROM set, and other Linux material.
- S.u.S.E. GmbH, a German

Linux Journal is the monthly magazine for and about the Linux
community. It is published by SSC, Inc..
A number of Linux activists write for LJ. Article subjects range
from novice questions and answers to kernel programming.
