The system manager is the primary individual responsible for giving users rights to programs and information contained on their network. Managers that directly control their networks are called ADP System Managers, and have superuser status in their networks. These individuals must assign user access rights, ensure users are properly designated, cleared and briefed, ensure all their equipment is accredited, ensure the clearing of equipment prior to its surplussing, and must also keep up to date on all security advisories affecting their networks. This person also serves as the direct liaison for coordinating with NRL IS Security Office staff.
