The stage location is the centralized location where components are placed for installations. The components are bundled in one stage location file. The Oracle Universal Installer reads this file and provides an inventory of the components available to be installed.

Note: the stage location may be over the network, on a CD-ROM, local to the installation destination, or over an internet server.
