Testing Net Service Name Connectivity

To test that you can connect to the service defined by a net service name:

  1. Double-click on the Net Service Names folder in the directory tree. If net service names exist, they display in the tree structure.

  2. Click on an existing Net Service Name file in the Net Service Names folder in the left hand side screen.

  3. Choose Test Net Service Name from the Tools menu, or click on the Test Net Service Name icon. The Connection Test dialog displays and updates as the test results are generated.
