The Authentication tab allows you to configure authentication requirements before performing administrator tasks.

Do Not Require a Password for Listener Operations:

Select this option if you do not require authentication to perform administrator tasks.

Require a Password for Listener Operations:

Select this option if you require authentication to perform certain administrator tasks. You may then enter the required password. The default password is “oracle”. This password will be required when performing administrative task with the Listener Control Utility (LSNRCTL).

Note: Net8 only allows configuration of one password per listener.
