Use the Advanced Service Options dialog box to configure advanced service name connection options.
Additional Service Settings
| Instance Name:
| Enter a database instance to access.
The instance name can be obtained from the INSTANCE_NAME parameter in the INIT.ORA file, which is usually set the SID of the database instance. Note: Not enabled if Use Oracle8i Release 8.0 Compatible Identification option is turned on.

| Handler Name:
| Enter a service handler, such as an MTS dispatcher, to access.
Note: Not enabled for release 8.1.5.

| Oracle Home:
| Enter the Oracle home of the Oracle database where tool will start the
database. This parameter is used to start the database across the network. It forks a
dedicated server.
Note: Windows NT already know the Oracle home. Therefore, this option is not needed for connection to a service on Windows NT.

Global Database Name:
Enter an identifier for the Oracle Rdb database.
Session Data Unit (SDU):
Enter the session data unit (SDU) size to change the performance characteristics having to do with the packets sent across the network.
Use a Dedicated Server:
Select this option if you wish for the client connection to bypass multi-threaded server and to use dedicated server.
Use for Heterogeneous Services:
Select this option for an Oracle8 server to access a non-Oracle system.
Note: Not enabled if Use Oracle8i Release 8.0 Compatible Identification option is turned on.
