The SSL tab allows you to modify Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) settings. SSL stores authentication data, such as certificates and private keys, in an Oracle Wallet. When the client initiates a Net8 connection to the server, SSL performs a handshake between the two using the private key and certificate. The server may then send its own certificate to the client in a message encrypted with the client’s public key. The client decrypts this message by using its own private key, then verifies that the server’s certificate bears the certificate authority’s signature
Configure SSL for Client:
Select to modify settings for the client.
Configure SSL for Server
Select to modify settings for the server.
Wallet Directory:
Enter the location of wallets. Wallets are certificates, keys and trustpoints processed by SSL.
Require SSL Version:
From the drop-down list, select the version of SSL. Client and server must use a compatible version.
Cipher Suite Configuration:
Add or remove Cipher Suites, sets of authentication, encryption and data integrity types.

| Click to invoke the Select a Cipher Suite to enable dialog box. In the Select a Cipher Suite to enable dialog box, select a suite and click OK. The Cipher Suite is added to the
list box.

| Promote button:
| Click to move a selected Cipher Suite to the top of the list.

| Click to move a selected Cipher Suite to the bottom of the list.

In addition to server-side authentication, click this to enable client-side authentication.
