   RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

   Programmer/Analyst.  July, 1988 to November, 1991.

    Platforms:  DEC VAX (VMS), DOS PC's using ProComm and Brief

    Duties:
     - Maintained with supervisor a 55,000,000-record Vehicle Records
       History database.
     - Did operational chores, including quality control & backups
     - Did general system maintenance tasks, such as main-
       taining user authorization file, auditing system
       security alarms, swapping CPU boards in VAX 11/750
       mainframe, preventative maintenance, etc.
     - Developed the OLRSHR reentrant shareable (linkable) image
       for use by various application programs, including the
       OLR (On-Line Reporting) program, the DRS (Discrepancy
       Reporting Service) suite of programs, and others.
     - Maintained Carfax's major product, the VRH OLR (Vehicle
       Records History On-Line Reporting) program through
       numerous versions, incorporating the OLRSHR shareable
       image.
     - Did database design and implementation for VRH database.
     - Supported customers with technical problems with their
       terminals or PC's over the phone.  This included
       programming over the phone or sometimes downloading
       software PC-to-PC.
     - Designed, along with supervisor, the VINde database
       and wrote the developmental programming for VINde.
       VINde is a relational database-based VIN-decoding
       product.
     - Documented various products, including upgrade notifi-
       cations for the VINde product.
     - Helped maintain Carfax's communications peripherals,
       including Multi-Tech modems and an X.25 lindk with
       CompuServe. (Carfax is a host on the CompuServe network).

   Programmer/Operator/Analyst.  January, 1982 - December, 1984.
   Central United Methodist Church, Kansas City, MO
     - Developed and implemented a member contribution data entry,
       reporting, and analysis system.  It produces quarterly
       statements and weekly offering reports, processing nearly
       $200,000 of contributions yearly.
     - Developed and maintained the member roll and label addressing
       software.  Programmed for zip-sorting procedures.
     - Rebuilt a pre-programmed payroll sytem to suit the needs
       of the church.
     - Supervised and assisted church staff in the operation of
       the computer, my programming, and other software packages
       (e.g., word processors, spreadsheets)
     - Devised and helped write user operational guidelines.
     - Performed data entry and equipment maintenance duties as
       needed, ensuring system and data integrity.
